Easy Food Recipes and Cooking - Chocolate Sundae Pie
Serves 6 to 8
SUGAR CONE CRUST:
12 to 14 sugar cones, crushed
3 tablespoons ground nuts of your choice
2 tablespoons sugar
8 tablespoons unsalted butter
1. Combine the cones, nuts and sugar in a bowl.
2. Melt butter and fold into the mixture. Line the mixture in a buttered !Die pan.
3. Bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 5 minutes then cool.
CHOCOLATE FILLING:
- 275 grams bittersweet chocolate
- 5 tablespoons water
- 5 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
- 5 egg whites
- 5 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream whipped cream, for topping
- Marshmallows, for topping
- Maraschino cherries, for topping
- In a saucepan, add chocolate to the water and melt over low heat, stirring continuously until smooth. Remove from the heat.
- Add in the egg yolks. Whip the mixture over low heat for a few minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from the heat and add in the chocolate syrup Cool completely.
- Whip the egg whites with sugar until soft peaks form. Fold into the chocolate mixture.
- Whip the cream until soft peaks form then fold into the chocolate mixture as well.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the baked sugar cone crust and freeze.
- Top with whipped cream, marshmallows and cherries before serving.
