• 125 g (135 ml) butter
• 100 g (125 ml) sugar
• 100 g (125 ml) brown sugar
• 2 ml vanilla essence
• 1 egg, slightly beaten
• 184 g (330 ml) self-raising flour
• 1 ml salt
• 125 g chocolate chips
• 60 g walnuts, roughly chopped
Preheat oven to 180ºC. Mix butter and both sugars with an electric beater until light and creamy. Add vanilla essence and mix. Slowly add the beaten egg, mixing well after every addition. Sift self-raising flour and salt together. Add it to the sugar mixture. Add chocolate chips and walnuts and mix well. Form teaspoonfuls of the mixture into balls. Place them about 5 cm apart on a baking tray lined with baking paper and sprayed with nonstick spray. Bake for 15 – 20 minutes.
