Easy Food Recipes and Cooking - Tomato Base
Makes about 400 ml
• 45 ml olive oil
• 1 onion, finely chopped
• 2 garlic cloves, chopped
• 1 x tin (30 g) tomato purée
• 1 x tin (400 g) cherry tomatoes
• salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Heat the oil in a medium-sized saucepan. Add the onion and garlic. Sauté for 5 minutes. Add the tomato purée and tinned tomatoes. Reduce the heat and simmer for 12 – 15 minutes. Season well.
